A young rebel, Sid is a drummer in a rock band and is involved with woman whose infidelity to her powerful husband has just been discovered. Furious, the husband orders the young man’s two hands to be chopped off. Sid’s father Kwan, brutal chief of a Japanese gang, sends his son to hide in the mountains, accompanied by bodyguards. There Sid meets a group of Zen percussionists who practise this art whilst following a demanding physical training regime. The spoiled and pretentious young man is fascinated and asks them to join the group. Immersed in this new world, he gradually learns to become more confident and concentrated. Fate then plays a trick on him. Will he choose loyalty to his family or trust in his newfound confidence?
